Prayer Rally permit Sunday for Whiting Forensic Hospital’s political prisoner John Flynn unconstitutionally denied by Whiting Forensic Hospital CEO.
CEO of Whiting Jose Crego facilitates unlawful detainment based on bogus criminal charges, “conspiracy theories” and “connecting the dots” to violate the law, and medically kidnap and torture a Connecticut investigative reporter and MAGA Republican.
WHITINGS FORENSIC HOSPITAL - MIDDLETOWN CT – A permit requested for a religious gathering of supporters of political prisoner John Flynn, was denied by Whiting CEO Jose Crego, blocking a prayer, song and sign rally on the grounds of Whiting Forensic Hospital, 70 Obrien Dr., Middletown, CT.
Due to this violation of the First Amendment, rally goers who wish to support John Flynn are encouraged to use the sidewalk in front of the campus entry to bring attention to the civil and human rights abuses at Whiting Forensic Hospital under the direction of Jose Crego.
This Sunday, April 13th from 10 am until 2 pm, attendees will be asked to use the public sidewalk and bring bullhorns, signs and flags in support of political prisoner detainee, John Flynn. The Commuter Lot Crego directed supporters to be corralled inside of, is not within sound or sight of the formal entry to Whiting Forensic Hospital violating our first amendment.
On March 24, 2025, a Connecticut prosecuting attorney convinced a Bridgeport GA-2 criminal judge to order the unconstitutional detainment of an innocent, completely sane, political investigative journalist, for 60 days, in Whiting Forensic Hospital. The State’s Attorney had argued that John Flynn’s investigative videos are “conspiracy theories” and he is guilty of “connecting the dots”. The Forensic report is frightening as seven unnamed people are colluding against Mr. Flynn’s legal rights and misusing the hospital under the directives of Jose Crego for political retaliation and to medically threaten and torture victims.
These people refused John’s evidence from Congressional Reports, while naming these reports conspiracy theories. According to John, the staff has told him that until he renounces his political beliefs and submits to drugging, he will remain locked up. They have deemed John unable to represent himself, which is untrue, a violation of human rights and the constitutions.
No other evidence of mental illness was presented by the state to warrant a psychiatric evaluation, let alone a 60 day detention in a high risk mental institution for the criminally insane. The state has produced no public evidence that John Flynn was an immediate danger to himself or society. He is a political prisoner who has been stalked and detained on multiple occasions. He is one of a disturbing number of cases, within Connecticut and other blue states, of political retribution and persecution of activists to silence and punish political dissent, using psychiatric evaluation and detention.
As a detained political prisoner, John Flynn asserts, maintains, and has reported that his requests for a rightful hearing, in accordance with state law, for mis imprisonment, has been ignored; that he is being administered unknown drugs that have destabilized his blood sugar, and told if he does not take the drugs, they will never let him out; that he is denied or restricted access to a copier machine, legal library and writing instruments for communication; that he is not allowed to defend himself; that he does not have an attorney other than a court appointed attorney who has colluded against him, who does not return his calls, and who has corruption charges pending against him.
John Flynn is before the Court on two dockets #CR22-0249155 and #CR23-0354715, all are bogus charges designed to detain a political prisoner. His court appointed attorney, Dennis Bradley, failed to appear on his behalf, is a politically biased Democrat, and is awaiting sentencing for falsifying campaign finance forms.
John Flynn has been denied visitors and independent healthcare and legal assistance. Yesterday, John reported that his reviews are nothing more than demeaning political interrogations, and he is being detained for “not getting along with people”, “not getting along with his court appointed attorney”, and told that he “belongs in Whiting”. His objections to torture are being used against him to threaten him and prolong his detention while he is being medically and mentally abused.
Flynn has not been convicted of any crime but was charged with three, resulting from a concerted effort to frame him and medically kidnap him, while denying him a public trial. He was removed from the Bridgeport GA2 courthouse, without representation, in shackles and handcuffs under the unlawful orders of Judge Mary Elizabeth Reid, Superior Court, G.A. 2 Bridgeport, CT.
Whiting’s doctors and administrators are acting in violation of the law meant to protect mental health patients from improper detention, and the staff has been heard making statements such as, “he does not belong here” and “the state is trying to make it seem like he’s crazy”.
John Flynn has multiple cases filed in state and federal jurisdictions, covering Connecticut election fraud and 5G related public safety issues; and, implicating the secretary of state’s office and various elected officials, bureaucrats and state contractors. He acquired tens of thousands of electronic signatures for ballot access that were denied by the Secretary of State in violation of election laws.
Whiting Forensic Hospital has a history of crimes against its patients and is now one of many mental health asylums used duplicitously by influential attorneys, judges, politicians, the Connecticut FBI, and others, to detain targeted individuals; silence and punish political opponents and whistle blowers; confiscate marital property and establish legal control over unwanted spouses and other lawful individuals; and, to circumvent due process, in a criminal conspiracy against human and civil rights.

Dear Mr. Crego:
Thank you for your timely response. Sadly, you do not wish to accommodate us within sight and sound of the formal entrance to Whiting Forensic, as is our constitutional right. Please provide the name(s) and juris number(s) of your legal advisor(s), for service, as they are not versed in the constitutions, but are violating our rights to assemble and be heard. In my opinion, you are placing us in danger, on a busy intersection where we cannot hold this event, whilst a reasonable campus location is civil, safe, and honorable.
We do not want to be shoved into a commuter lot like cattle. That is not civil, safe or honorable. This is not a matter for the Middletown Police Department and an improper use of Middletown taxpayer dollars, while placing our police and worshippers in harm's way.
At my last event at Uncas on the Thames in Norwich, the state sent one police cruiser, and we were provided a permit and a safe place to worship and sing with amplified sound that was close to the entrance but did not stop the egress or entry in any manner. The State Police sent one cruiser, and the event was peaceful and blessed.
Our group is no more disruptive than one of Senator Blumenthal's press conferences at your facility and we would like equal adequate access and exposure. Senator Blumenthal has no greater right to accommodation and event access, than do we.
Furthermore, without a proper permit I cannot protect our group or facilitate this religious event, as we come to worship and pray not to protest in a parking lot. I take this email as an unlawful rejection of our permit, and a violation of our right to peacefully assembly as specified in the Constitution for the United States of America.
We are not subjects and neither is the political detainee, John Flynn. The name and juris number of your legal advisor or the identity of the state department restricting our free expression of speech and religion, for service would be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
Lori Hopkins Cavanagh

to me
Ms. Hopkins Cavanagh,
Thank you for your request for designated space for your planned rally. You also mentioned working directly with our facility manager to facilitate the logistics of the event, including setup after 9 a.m. and the prayer gathering from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is understood that you have requested a location in proximity to the official entry into the Whiting Forensic Hospital facility (WFH) of the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). It is also understood that you have requested access to an area with electrical service for amplified sound, to support gospel and patriotic singers, pastors, and civil rights speakers.
The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is a state agency with a guiding principle of providing recovery-oriented services. DMHAS serves people with different levels of health, illness, and/or disability. DMHAS has an obligation to provide and maintain a safe therapeutic treatment environment for all persons in care while DMHAS medical professionals work with them toward the goal of eventual discharge back into the community.
DMHAS fully supports the right of peaceful assembly and free expression. To ensure safety, the privacy of our patients, and to maintain the therapeutic environment of care DMHAS has a longstanding practice of designating the commuter parking lot across from our campus entrance as the designated rally and protest area for groups wishing to gather in support of their cause. For your convenience, I have attached a map to assist in your event preparations for your convenience.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide access to electricity or similar accommodations at this time. We recommend contacting the Middletown Police Department to inform them of your plans, as they may be able to provide further support. Please also make sure that all roadways and entrances remain clear for travel, as requested by local authorities.
If you have any further questions or need additional clarification, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Respectfully,
Jose E. Crego LCSW, LADC

Dear CEO Crego:
I did not hear back from you yesterday regarding the issuance of a permit for our peaceful assembly in support of detained political prisoner John Flynn. Please explain the reason our constitutionally protected request for a permit is being delayed, and provide the name of your legal counsel and their juris number, if they are delaying our request.
As you know this detention is a human and civil rights abuse matter:
1. John is being unconstitutionally detained without conviction,
2. John is being drugged against his will and his diabetic care is poor,
3. John is being threatened by politically motivated and legally inept staff who have said that he "...belongs in Whiting",
4. John is being denied due process with threats from staff of unlimited detention in violation of the law,
5. John has been denied access to his phone contacts, denied access to a law library, denied access to his healthcare advocate who requested a meeting last week; as well as denied an independent evaluation by unbiased doctors and nurses,
6. John has been denied two emergency hearings and all of his patient rights, as his handwritten requests for a hearing were ignored, illegally, and no notice of rights has been included in his file,
7. John has been denied visitors, including his elderly father, and is being mentally and medically tortured,
8. John is NOT a criminal, or mentally ill, or a threat to anyone, especially himself,
9. Your staff evaluator said he "...doesn't get along with people", as a reason to hold him,
10. I personally overheard and have a record of two staffers discussing the fact that John is NOT mentally ill, an addict or an alcoholic, and that the state is trying to set him up! Your staff knows.
Please stop this insane political retribution. This political hit job may cost Whiting Forensic another major lawsuit, and the victims are plentiful, as are John's friends and supporters. Hundreds of Habeas are being issued, at this time, through courtroomwatch.org. This is a national effort to free a political prisoner. The effort is important to shine a light on judicial abuse and political retribution by Court Officers in collusion with Senator Blumenthal, William Tong and Governor Lamont.
The judge is not a doctor and cannot detain John Flynn against the law. Whiting, however, is responsible for abusing the very laws that prevent this sort of political targeting. Sadly, the staff is being used to torture detainees and silence their speech in violation of the constitutions. We know that John Flynn is not an isolated case.
Please, honor our constitutional rights to assemble as requested, as there is no reason to delay our permit, or to have a perfectly sane person locked up and medically and mentally tortured under your care to benefit your political associates.
Respectfully,
Lori Hopkins Cavanagh
Good Afternoon, Mr. Crego: I was referred to you by the Department of Administrative Services to secure a permit to peacefully assemble in prayer and song in support of John Flynn, a political detainee, unlawfully held at Whiting Forensic Hospital, under your care. We seek reasonable accommodation within reasonable proximity of sight and sound to the official entry into Whiting, in an area with electrical service for amplified sound, for gospel and patriotic singers, pastors and civil rights speakers; and to work directly with your facility manager to facilitate the logistics of the rally with set up after nine and the prayer event from 10 until 2. We do not wish to block or impede entry or egress from the hospital and suggest a courtyard or lawn/ garden area where attendees may bring lawn chairs, sit and pray. We estimate under 200 attendees and depending on the weather, it may be a dozen supporters of John Flynn. I did not anticipate that I would be writing to you in this regard but now that I am, please know that John does not belong in Whiting and your staff knows this. Whiting is an important hospital to Connecticut, but it cannot be misused to punish political opponents, silence speech and medically and mentally torture and punish outspoken investigative journalists, like John. If John is released, we will not gather at Whiting and I pray that is the case. I look forward to your prompt reply and accommodation, for a peaceful assembly. Respectfully, Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh lorionliberty@gmail.com
